The Barlows are back from Bali, honeyed-up after honeymoon and Peter carries Carla over the threshold- at Underworld.  Peter tells Tina to cool it so she tries to make him jealous by snogging Rob in the smoker’s shelter at the pub. Carla catches them at it and tells Peter, unaware as to why Peter’s really upset about it all.

Gail calls a Platt family pow-wow, forces them all to sit down at the kitchen table and talk things through.  Kylie’s not best pleased and tells Audrey: “If Gail wants a summit, I’ll give her summat!”  It works as well as you’d expect. Kylie tells David he can see the kids as long as he’s never unsupervised, a rule which is broken in the next episode. Kylie deals with this in the only way she knows how and gets stonking drunk.

Brian and Julie split up and he moves out, taking the Morecambe Bay corkscrew with him.  Now then, there have been many goings on Coronation Street.  Some people leave in a taxi. Some people wait for the bus. Brian? He packed himself up in a white van and drove himself away to Wales, while Julie’s heart broke.

Rita’s not happy to see Gloria get her claws into Dennis as the two of them arrange for The Power to perform at The Bistro.  This music management lark has given Dennis a new lease of life and Rita’s not quite sure what that might mean for their relationship now.

And finally this week, let’s see what we have. Christmas? Check. Nativity? Check. Drunken parent? Check.  It’s Kylie’s turn this year to disrupt the school nativity in which little Simon and Max are involved.  “Don’t worry,” Simon says to Max when drunken Kylie causes chaos and is asked to leave. “This happens every year.”

And that’s just about that for this week.
