4484 - Sunday 4 October

4485 - Monday 5 October
Concern was mounting in the Battersby household over Toyah's new choice of boyfriend. It was clear there were changes within her since she started seeing and they were caused by some of her actions no doubt. You see young Toyah had slept with him and had foolishly not taken any precautions. This was a cause of concern for Leanne who had a few more years on her back and was a little more worldly wise as a result she told Toyah to go and get a morning after pill from the Doctors.

Roy and Hayley were planning a dinner party for Gail and Martin. It would be thier first as a couple but they didn't realise that both Gail and Martin weren't too pleased with the prospect of spending with the Cropper couple especially as Roy was planning to make it a regular fixture. He might soon have more pressing problems on his plate anyway as it was clear that Mike was getting ready to stir up trouble in the Street as part of his vengance on Roy Cropper for the pint of beer incident.

Poor old Toyah meanwhile continued to be led astray by her new boyfriend as he asked her to do him something of a favour in her capacity as working for the cafe. He told her to take a ten pound note from the till. Unfortunately Toyah being the gullible sort that she is complied with his wishes and surely had to start something of a downhill run for herself in the trouble stakes.

Meanwhile Ann and Spider met in "secret" to plot a bid to ensure the innocence of Curly. Ann decided that the best way to help Curly was to shift the blame from him to someone close to him. In essence Ann was talking about Alma and concocted a ridiculous story about her being obsessed with Curly which was clearly a reflection on her own life.

Jim and Liz went out for a meal to a restaurant and as always there was someone there on hand to eye Liz up as a potential date although God only knows why they would do that. Anyway Jim decided to lose his temper as always when he found out and this once again revealed that little had changed deep down inside and Jim was still the fiery hothead he always had been....a true disappointment for Liz....

All in all : O.K

4486 - Wednesday 7 October
A good deal was squeezed into the show tonight with an emphasis on poor gullible Toyah Battersby and her infatutaion with no good boyfriend Dobber. She was well and truly under his spell and it showed in the way that he was able to get her to steal from the till in her capacity as waitress at the cafe. Of course all her family were concerned for her well being but she was not listening to anything they had to say.

Elsewhere Roy and Hayley prepared for their little meal with Gail and Martin. Martin would have sooner bitten off his own fingers than spend the evening in the company of people he classed as boring and made his complaints rather verbal throughout the day. The meal itself was pleasant enough though but the topic of conversation moving round to Mike made things a little strained for the likes of Hayley. Of course at the moment nobody knew her little secret and she and Roy were keen to keep it that way.

Maxine feared for her job as Audrey started making moves to recruit someone else. In her bid for pity the only words she was hearing was the fact that she had being unreliable in the past with her late starts and early finishes coupled with the fact that she often turned in with a hangover.

In the meantime it was confession time for Liz as she was still smarting from her little embarrasment with Jim the night before at the restaurant. She confessed to Micheal the therapist that she was not in love with Jim and in no way did she want to spend the rest of her life with him. This could be a crippling blow to Jim if and when he found out about her true feelings.

The night closed with Alma and Spider plotting the downfall of Ann Malone. They intended to catch her on camera preparing a note designed to clear Curly yet frame Alma for the sabotage of the store. It looked like it might go well and Alma would secure the tape with the necessary evidence but the arrival of a security guard put paid to that plan.

It was clear a greater effort was going to have to be made....or Curly would be unable to return to England a free man....

All in all : O.K

4487 - Friday 9 October
Plenty to keep the viewer amused tonight as we saw Ann working at her best to trip up the super sleuth team of Spider and Alma. The security tape scenario was rumbled by Ann and within a short while we saw Alma out of the frame and out of the store as she was sacked for supposedly trying to steal company property.

Elsewhere we saw Dobbo turning on the sweet talk with Toyah even though it was clear he cared little for her or her feelings. He simply wanted to use her for his own ends in other words money and sex. Alas Toyah was too taken in by the yob to see past his true motives. There was a close call for her as well as Gail finally questioned the missing money from the till but no outright blame was laid at her door.

Jim remained oblivious to Liz's true feelings about him while he went off for some open day or other for people with physical impairment. It gave Micheal the chance to sit and talk with Liz about a whole range of things including his divorce and how it had affected him. In fact it was a time for brutal honesty between the two of them and a talked cleared the air in many ways. In fact it moved a step further than that as well.

Micheal it would seem had long harboured feelings for Liz and before you knew it he was making something of an unprofessional and somewhat clumsy pass at her. At first she resisted but when he approached her in a more proper manner she surrendered to his kisses and the two of them were locked in an embrace.

The most interesting aspect of the night however was Ann Mullone's quest to clear Curly's name and shift the blame elsewhere. It would call for a little bit of hard work on her part and a further degree of in shop sabotage. That would be dealt with in the following way. Ann decided the best way to get in on the ground floor would be to damage some food while it was still in the deep freeze section of the store. Lots of food was contained within huge walk in freezers and Ann decided that would be the best way to start her mission.

She took the liberty of deactivating the cameras in that area of the store so she would be anonymous to anyone who might want future evidence of what was happening. Then armed with what looked like an aerosol of anti freeze and some gloves to cover her fingerprints she made her way into the freezeer and set about her work.

She didn't reckon with the security guard however who ambled past and saw the door was open and took the liberty of locking it shut for the night leaving her inside. The last we saw of Ann Malone was when she was pounding on the huge door with the world outside oblivious to her rapidly facing cries as she surely succumbed to the cold within.

It looked doubtful she would survive the night within the freezer and her plea for help gradually became weaker......

All in all : Good

4488 - Sunday 11 October
Ann Malone wasn't saying much tonight but then that was because she had frozen to death in one of the walk in freezers the night before. Spider came to see her only to be greeted with her deep frozen corpse following her accidental imprisonment by Trevor the security guard. Of course that meant the police moved in quickly seeking to pin the blame for all the epsionage on Spider including a murder charge of all things.

By the end of the day though a quick police search through Ann's house found some evidence which linked her to the crimes against the supermarket chain and this got Spider off the hook. Alas there was no sign of Curly so he couldn't be told his name was cleared but the main thing was all and sundry were innocent and the real culprit was found although it was unfortunate her shenanigans had to cost Ann her life.

Meanwhile Jim soldiered on regardless with his life unaware his wife had been living it up with Micheal. Speaking of whom he decided the best thing for all concerned was to keep thier relationship on a professional basis for the good of all concerned. How long that will last of course is anyone's guess but I don't think it will be long if you ask me.

The main part of the night however was the return of Greg. Unaware that Sally's children were now in residence he looked about as happy as a man who had found a penny and lost a pound as he looked on at the fact that his little love nest had been taken over by a ready made family. Sally would have to be stupid to think that her relationship with him was on solid ground as she simpered with him and tried to placate him over the matter.

He showed no interest in the children whatsover proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was only in it for the money.

Des and Natalie were moving in together although Des wasn't happy about the fact that Natalie wouldn't sell her house enabling him to prove his commitment to her. He decided that he would sort the matter out with a simple question....a proposal of marriage. A proposal she answered with a resounding "Yes".

All in all : Good, Well rounded episode

4489 - Monday 12 October
Good old Greg, he was faced with an early start thanks to the children as they wanted breakfast. While Des dropped his first faux pas with with Natalie as he forgot her birthday. Sally was still blind to the problems that she faced with Greg and soldiered on regardless.

Alma meanwhile was ready to go back to Fresco but approached the idea with trepidation and confided her feelings in Spider over a coffee in the cafe. Des meanwhile made up for his forgetfulness with a bunch of flowers and going public about his impending marriage to the woman of his dreams. When the news spread to Kevin though he absorbed it like a punch in the guts, perphaps it brought a lot of home truths home to him.

Jim meanwhile was raring to go in his rehabilitation mode but was still unaware of how Liz felt about him. It was a shock waiting to happen for sure. After all she no longer loved him and had only recently engaged in a little bit of unprofessional activity with Micheal the threapist which does however seem to be Liz being true to form.

As lunchtime loomed Greg became more and more cold towards Sally. He was too busy dropping the database of Mike's business onto disk for his own purposes. Sally however had a conscience about what was happening and wasn't happy with his little plan. However Greg ever the scoundrel continued regardless.

In the Rovers Lix and Micheal played footsy around each other as Jim was getting the drinks. Jim of course realised nothing and was only too happy that his "friend" had arranged extra physio sessions.

Kevin meanwhile was starting to become resentful towards Natalie because of her impending marriage plans and decided to vetoe the Rovers while the celebrations went on.

Alma meanwhile faced the new Fresco manager and instead of facing any potential problems she was faced with promotion instead. Alma however felt guilty about taking Curly's job but eventually decided that she didn't want it as it seemed like an effort to keep her quiet about the Malone affair.

Kevin meanwhile spied Sally and Greg in the Rovers and and blew a gasket as a result. His anger then spilled over to Natalie and he sniped at her plans to be wed to unreliable Des Barnes. His mood was growing darker with every pint he sank. In fact as drink when took hold he declared "undying" love for Natalie and asked her rather foolishly to marry him.

He did strike a positive blow in the end though as in his drunken stupor he explained to Mike Baldwin how Sally and Greg were setting up business right under his nose and stealing his customers to boot. A move which gave Mike something to think about....

All in all : Good

I'm afraid I have to announce that for the foreseeable future I won't be able to continue reviewing Corrie. I'm back at Uni again now and I am finding myself a little bit hard pushed to juggle work and assignments. Hence for the time being if someone fancies picking up where I left off I would still be glad to slip the odd review in here and there if someone is pushed.

I will be trying to keep other reviews going for the time being if time allows but I honestly think I will be winding things up for now.

Thanks for reading my reviews over what seems like the last seven million years, the input I have recieved from everyone has pretty much kept me going this long :)

Cheers

Adi
