Curly cooks dinner for Sharon but to no avail. Elsie has a night out with Bill Gregory and Hilda thinks Stan is making excuses for not working

Wednesday (2375, Wednesday 4 January 1984)
Bill Gregory asks Elsie to return to Portugal with him. Hilda moves Stan downstairs because of his foot injury and tries to get Alf to help with compensation

Thursday (2376, Monday 9 January 1984)
Hilda wants to sue the Council for compensation following Stan's injury. Ivy decides to have a night out at the local Bingo Hall where she meets an old friend

Friday (2377, Wednesday 11 January 1984)
Brian is not pleased about Ivy's new friendship and Fred reports his car missing to the Police

Fred panics when he realises he'll lose money on the Rover raffle, and Stan jeopardises Hilda's compensation claim

Monday (2383, Wednesday 1 February 1984)
Percy Sugden insists that Fred's raffle must take place and wins despite sabotage. It's Hilda's sixtieth birthday and she receives an unexpected present

Percy makes enquiries about getting the Rover fixed up and Fred fumes over the fact that he won it for a pound! Mike Baldwin spots Maggie and the baby out shopping

Wednesday (2385, Wednesday 8 February 1984)
The fight continues between Fred and Percy about the Rover, and Mike Baldwin starts to observe Maggie's comings and goings

Thursday (2386, Monday 13 February 1984)
There's conflict at the Rovers about who's in charge while Annie's away. Mike confronts Maggie about seeing Mark and Kevin's Dad gets a repair at the Corner shop

Friday (2387, Wednesday 15 February 1984)
Fred's not happy with the new landlady. Mike visits Maggie again and takes a present for Mark and Bill Webster approaches Rita, about renting Len's yard

The Yard is broken into and Maggie tells Harry that Mike is Mark's father.

Tuesday (2389, Wednesday 22 February 1984)
Bill pesters Rita to let him rent the Yard, Fred is appointed temporary manager of the Rovers and Mike agrees to leave Maggie and Mark alone on one condition.

Wednesday (2390, Monday 27 February 1984)
Rita decides to buy a car from Heslop but Brian thinks the sale is crooked. Fred decides to lay on hot lunches to impress Ken, who is writing a good food guide on the local pubs.

Thursday (2391, Wednesday 29 February 1984)
Rita tells Heslop she is not buying the car, he threatens her with legal action and Stan takes Hilda's cash card and withdraws money from the bank.

Friday (2392, Monday 5 March 1984)
Fred spends the night in hospital with food poisoning after eating some of his pies and Ken writes a review about the awful quality of food at the Rover's. Billy Walker returns to the Street on his mother's orders, to save the pub.

Monday (2393, Wednesday 7 March 1984)
Stan continues to take money from Hilda's account and kids her into thinking that he's won on the horses. Rita is thrilled with her new car.

Tuesday (2394, Monday 12 March 1984)
Billy is annoyed as the regulars boycott the Rovers. Ivy turns down an invitation from Arthur and Rita gives Mavis her first driving lesson.

Wednesday (2395, Wednesday 14 March 1984)
Ivy wants to start living her life again and tells Brian she's tired of him bullying her, Billy lays on free drinks to win the regulars back and Kevin agrees to give Mavis driving lessons.

Thursday (2396, Monday 19 March 1984)
Bill installs himself in the Yard and puts up his own sign, Rita agrees for Mavis to have a proper driving instructor and Gail and Vera are annoyed with Brian for upsetting Ivy.

Friday (2397, Wednesday 21 March 1984)
Billy decides to return to Jersey as Fred is coming back. Ivy tells Arthur that she's not ready for a relationship and doesn't want to see him again and Mavis is too ill to attend the concert.

Monday (2398, Monday 26 March 1984)
Fred returns to the Rovers, minus his appendix and Kevin agrees to give Emily an estimate for the chapel roof.

Tuesday (2399, Wednesday 28 March 1984)
Bet agrees to go to the dance with Fred, much to Betty's annoyance and Rita lends Bill the capital to start work.

Wednesday (2400, Monday 2 April 1984)
Alf doesn't like the idea of Rita lending Bill money, fearing that she is becoming too fond of him and Emily gives Bill the chapel job on the condition that he produces two references.

Curly gets a Date and Alf gives Bill a reference.

Friday (2402, Monday 9 April 1984)
The Brewery send Frank Harvey to take over as temporary manager in Fred's absence. Bet and Betty are annoyed that they aren't trusted to run the pub.

Monday (2403, Wednesday 11 April 1984)
Ken is forced to meet Mrs. Glover when she threatens to kill herself and Bet tackles Frank and tells him he's a liar.

Tuesday (2404, Monday 16 April 1984)
Frank orders Bet to go to the dance with him. She submits but turns up dressed as a tramp! Emily is upset to find Curly and his friends up to no good in her living room. She tells Curly she has misjudged him ands asks him to get rid of his friends.

Wednesday (2405, Wednesday 18 April 1984)
Curly apologises to Emily, Deirdre tackles Ken about Christine and Kathy leaves the Rovers.

Thursday (2406, Monday 23 April 1984)
The Barlows plan an outing to Tatton Park which has to be cancelled as Ken is summoned to the hospital and Curly and his friends go on a canal trip.

Friday (2407, Wednesday 25 April 1984)
Curly and Elaine spend the night together in the boat when it breaks down, Bill finds someone has stolen all the lead off the chapel roof and Jack panics with the arrival of a TV detector van .

Monday (2408, Monday 30 April 1984)
Jack maintains he forgot to buy the licence and Emily tells Barker about Bill and the police's concerns.

Tuesday (2409, Wednesday 2 May 1984)
Barker tells Bill that the chapel committee don't want him to complete his work. Terry leaves home and Vera is upset that Jack didn't try to stop him. Gordon Lewis replaces Frank at the Rovers.

Wednesday (2410, Monday 7 May 1984)
Terry Duckworth becomes the Ogdens' new lodger, Gordon Lewis returns to the Rover's as temporary manager and Rita visits Bill to find out the truth.

Thursday (2411, Wednesday 9 May 1984)
The mystery surrounding the stolen lead is solved and Billy Walker is back at the Rovers having left Jersey for good

Friday (2412, Monday 14 May 1984)
Terry spends the night with a girlfriend but finally decides to return home and Bettie arrives to tell Ken and Deirdre of Albert's death

Monday (2413, Wednesday 16 May 1984)
It is Albert's funeral and Beattie returns to the house with Deirdre and Ken to sort out his possessions. Meanwhile, the situation between Gordon and Billy is becoming more heated.

Elsie's daughter, Linda turns up out of the blue and moves into the house, Billy sets up a poker game in a bid to take Mike on and Bet gets an invitation.

Bet discovers that there's more to Billy's friend than meets the eye and Linda shows no interest in selling the house.

Bet discovers that Linda is back to stay and Vera asks Mike for a character reference to take to court.

Hilda tells Mike that she saw Billy leaving Deirdre's house late at night, and Jack and Vera are fined less than they expected.

Deirdre thinks Billy may have sussed out her affair. Mike and Bill Webster makes another bid for Elsie's house and Mavis romps through her mock driving test.

Deirdre pleads with Billy to say no more about her affair with Mike. Linda hears some bad news about her living arrangements and Mavis passes her driving test first time.

Wednesday (2420, Monday 11 June 1984)
Bill Webster's daughter arrives at The Street amongst speculation that the Websters will buy Elsie Tanner's house. Curly is interviewed by the Recorder as he reports having seen an unidentified flying object.

Thursday (2421, Wednesday 13 June 1984)
Curly's picture appears in the Recorder but rather than receiving recognition, he becomes the brunt of jokes at the Rover's. Bill Webster is still unsure about buying Elsie's house.

Friday (2422, Monday 18 June 1984)
Dave Burgess propositions Linda, she refuses and a row ensues at the Rovers. Jack Duckworth collects his car from Brian without paying and Curly is interviewed by Radio Weatherfield.

Monday (2423, Wednesday 20 June 1984)
Curly is a celebrity and a hit with the girls since his radio interview. Jack tries to steal the taxi back from Brian's garage but has a big surprise.

Tuesday (2424, Monday 25 June 1984)
Billy's old girlfriend Samantha arrives from Jersey en route to the Isle of Man and warns Billy that his Jersey creditors are anxious about their money.

Wednesday (2425, Wednesday 27 June 1984)
Vera plots to get Brian to release Jack's taxi by paying anonymously herself and makes it up with Ivy. Billy attempts to get loans from Alf and Rita.

Thursday (2426, Monday 2 July 1984)
Billy Walker receives an unpleasant phone call from Jersey and Gail's mother, Audrey, announces that she is engaged to be married.

Friday (2427, Wednesday 4 July 1984)
Mike Baldwin gives the factory workers a good talking to when he learns about Japanese business and Billy Walker apologises to Emily.

Monday (2428, Monday 9 July 1984)
The Websters move into Elsie Tanner's old house and it's the day of the 'Coronation Street Olympics'

Tuesday (2429, Wednesday 11 July 1984)
The Street prepares for the evening concert at the Rovers, after the day's games against the Flying horse. Whilst all enjoy themselves, George Hepworth goes to the Tilsey's home and attacks Gail.

Wednesday (2430, Monday 16 July 1984)
Gail is distressed following George's behaviour and refuses to help organise the wedding. Meanwhile, in an attempt to get revenge on Mike Baldwin, the girls at the factory 'go Japanese'

Thursday (2431, Wednesday 18 July 1984)
Gail tells her mother what's been upsetting her but the revelation does not make her alter her wedding plans and Billy blackmails Emily

Friday (2432, Monday 23 July 1984)
The Factory girls are worried that they may be made redundant when Mike Baldwin installs computers and robots to do their work! Billy Walker receives some bad news

Monday (2433, Wednesday 25 July 1984)
The factory girls demand to know what Mike Baldwin has planned for the Factory and are surprised to find out that the only computerisation he was considering was to work out the wages! Billy Walker decides to tell his mother about his debt on the advice of Betty and Sally

Tuesday (2434, Monday 30 July 1984)
An old flame pays a surprise visit on Mavis. Deirdre is worried that Alf will learn where the Gazette has got it's information from and Ken is faced with sacking Sally

Wednesday (2435, Wednesday 1 August 1984)
Mavis accepts an invitation for dinner - with some misgivings. Percy is making the most of his hero story and Jack finally tells the truth

Thursday (2436, Monday 6 August 1984)
Gail has a chance to run Jim's café but Brian is not keen. Mavis is being wined and dined by Derek and Betty and Fred are dismayed to see that Billy has returned.

Friday (2437, Wednesday 8 August 1984)
The girls at The Rovers are worried about their position now Billy is in charge. Hilda is beaten by Phyllis to a washing up job at the café and Mavis goes to a birthday dinner at Derek's and he proposes

Monday (2438, Monday 13 August 1984)
Debbie gets her CSE results which aren't good and consequently wants to leave school. Billy tells Fred he'll have to leave The Rovers, but Fred wants compensation. Mavis can't decide whether to marry Derek, especially when he gives her his mothers ring

Tuesday (2439, Wednesday 15 August 1984)
Fred and Jack go to the races although Fred is supposed to be looking for another job, so Billy is furious. Bill says that Debbie can leave school, if she finds a job first. People are finding out about Mavis' engagement, but Mavis is still not sure that she's doing the right thing

Wednesday (2440, Monday 20 August 1984)
Debbie is determined not to go back to school and to get a job somehow and Derek and Mavis set off to buy the ring

Thursday (2441, Wednesday 22 August 1984)
Debbie starts work at the café and meets an old flame and Fred has finally had enough of Billy

Friday (2442, Monday 27 August 1984)
Bill Webster spots Debbie hopping onto the back of Dazz 's motorbike and forbids her to see him again. Percy loses his budgie 'Randy' and enlists the help of Curly and Terry Duckworth to find him. Meanwhile Mavis sorts out the invitation list for her engagement party only to be visited by her old flame, Victor

Monday (2443, Wednesday 29 August 1984)
Percy Sugden is still wandering around looking for his budgie Randy and decides to offer a cash reward for the budgie's return. Victor arrives at Mavis' engagement party throwing Mavis into a flap

Tuesday (2444, Monday 3 September 1984)
The corner shop gets burgled. Mavis is worried that she hasn't heard from Derek since the engagement party and finds out it's because he's been talking to Victor about their walking holiday. Victor asks Mavis to marry him and Debbie goes out with Daza and they have an accident on his motorbike

Wednesday (2445, Wednesday 5 September 1984)
Bill threatens Daza and Mavis tells Derek that Victor has proposed to her as well

Thursday (2446, Monday 10 September 1984)
Fred is still looking for a job and finds out that Billy Walker is making it difficult for him. Meanwhile, Mavis tries to persuade Derek to talk to Victor

Friday (2447, Wednesday 12 September 1984)
Fred gets a job as van driver at Mike Baldwin's factory, Debbie is still arguing with her father over her boyfriend, Dazz and Victor tries to convince Mavis that she is making a big mistake

Monday (2448, Monday 17 September 1984)
Mavis realises she has no-one to give her away - Alf Roberts agrees to do it. Emily challenges a parked motorist on behalf of Homewatch but gets an angry response. However Curly manages to stop a woman from stealing Deirdre's washing off the line

Tuesday (2449, Wednesday 19 September 1984)
Mavis is worried about the job situation and the approaching wedding. Fred applies for the job in the shop and Terry Duckworth rings the police to warn them of a peeping Tom and that night Percy Sutcliffe is taken in by the police

Wednesday (2450, Monday 24 September 1984)
It is the day before Mavis and Derek's wedding and the bride to be gets merry at her hen party. Meanwhile, humiliated Percy resigns from his homewatch scheme

It is Mavis and Derek's wedding day but all does not go according to plan

Friday (2452, Monday 1 October 1984)
It is the aftermath of the wedding and Mavis explains where events went wrong. Ivy and Vera win at Bingo and go out to celebrate but Jack is picked up for drinking and driving

Monday (2453, Wednesday 3 October 1984)
Jack is worried about losing his driving licence and his livelihood. Ken continues to be aggrieved about Sally's relationship with Billy Walker and admits that the reason is because he is fond of her himself

Jack goes to court hoping to get off his drunk-driving charge but ends up losing his licence and being fined £200. Betty is approached to take a police sergeant as a lodger but she's not keen on the idea and Ken admits to Sally that he's not keen on the Corfu holiday because he'll miss her

Ken rows with Deidre over his attitude towards their holiday and then clashes with Billy over Sally Waterman. It's Jack's first day as one of the unemployed and Betty meets Sergeant Tony Cuncliffe and agrees to take him in as a lodger

Thursday (2456, Monday 15 October 1984)
Bill gives Jack a job as a casual labourer paying him cash in hand but Jack is worried that it will jeopardise his social security and Sally tells Billy that their relationship is getting too serious.

Billy buys a gold bracelet for Sally, Jack packs his possessions up and pays Fred to store them in his van whilst the DHSS visit and Bet flirts with Tony, when Betty refuses to bring him to The Rovers

Jack starts to make money after a rocky start, Sally tells Deidre that Ken kissed her and Gail tells Brian that George made a pass at her

Thursday (2461, Wednesday 31 October 1984)
Sally tells Ken that she'll resign, but Ken convinces her that the situation has been resolved and there is no need for Sally to leave. George tells Brian that Gail enjoyed his kisses and Brian unable to control his feelings,attacks him

Friday (2462, Monday 5 November 1984)
Bet announces to the world that she is in love and invites Tony to spend the night with her. Billy and Bernie pick up two women at the races and take them back to The Rovers after hours and following an evening of running around after Stan, Hilda collapses

Monday (2463, Wednesday 7 November 1984)
Billy loses his temper with Hilda and she breaks down in tears and Tony tells Bet that he doesn't want to go out with her

Tuesday (2464, Monday 12 November 1984)
Tony invites Rita out for a drink but she refuses as she knows that Bet is in love with him. Dr. Lowther suggests to Hilda that Stan could enter an old soldiers' home and Bet is hurt when Tony stands her up

Wednesday (2465, Wednesday 14 November 1984)
Tony pesters Rita for a date and after being told by Alf and Betty that most of Bet and Tony's relationship is in Bet's imagination, she finally agrees. Hilda is upset that Trevor is too busy to visit Stan and Percy is delighted to have Elaine to stay whilst she's on leave

Thursday (2466, Monday 19 November 1984)
Bet begs Rita not to go out with Tony again. Percy introduces Elaine to Mike in the hope that romance may blossom. The police call at The Rovers and accuse Billy of selling alcohol after hours. The hospital phones Hilda with some bad news, Stan has died

Friday (2467, Wednesday 21 November 1984)
The neighbours rally around Hilda who is devastated. Rita tells Tony that she can't see him again and Percy tells Elaine that Bill is too common for her

Monday (2468, Monday 26 November 1984)
It is Stan's funeral and Billy lays on a meal to help Hilda. Jack makes a statement to the police telling them he gaves Stan's name and Tony tells Bet to leave him alone

Tuesday (2469, Wednesday 28 November 1984)
Hilda is sick of moping about and returns to work. Sarah Ridley summons Billy to the brewery and suggests that she buys him out. It is agreed and they toast the end of the Walker empire

Wednesday (2470, Monday 3 December 1984)
Billy leaves Weatherfield for a new life in Jersey. Sarah Ridley tells Betty and Bet that Gordon Lewis is taking over

Thursday (2471, Wednesday 5 December 1984)
Vera is furious when Jack spends the morning in The Rovers rather than cleaning windows, Bill and Elaine leave for London and Mavis encourages Rita to go out with Tony

Friday (2472, Monday 10 December 1984)
Jack meets Dulcie Froggat on his round, they flirt with each other and he starts to enjoy his work and Elaine tells Bill she'd rather marry him than go to sea

Bill and Elaine decide to get married. Percy and Kevin are horrified. Tony tells Rita that he's taking her out for a special meal on Christmas Eve and Elaine offers Debbie a job in the new salon

Bet asks Mike for a loan so that she can buy the pub and Percy finally gives Elaine his blessing

Gordon thinks it's a joke that Bet has applied for the manager's job. Elaine tells Bill that she's found a Salon and Curly starts a petition at the brewery backing Bet.

Thursday (2476, Monday 24 December 1984)
The Street prepares for Christmas Eve. Jack Duckworth acquires a Christmas tree whilst Percy Sugden looses his. Tony Cunliffe turns up unexpectedly at Rita's and they decide to spend Christmas together.

Friday (2477, Wednesday 26 December 1984)
Tony and Rita spend Boxing Day together. Kevin Webster makes plans to find digs in Weatherfield and a petition is raised in support of Bet becoming landlady at The Rovers.
