Jon was a friend of Denise Osbourne
who rented a chair in Denise's salon. He encouraged Fiona
to enter the 1994 Weatherfield Haidresser (?) competition, to
which she reluctantly agreed and then won.
As he was separated from his wife at the time, he made a pass
at Denise in her flat. She rejected him and he left.
In February 1996, Denise having done yet another runner, offered
the £4,500 annual lease on the salon to him. Back together
with his hair stylist wife, Fiona's employment prospects looked
bleak.
