Owned a slot machine business in Rosamund Street, and came to the rescue of Elsie Tanner after two customers caused trouble in the cafe.

Afterwards he became friendly with Elsie and took her out a few times. When he had accommodation problems, Elsie offered him lodgings at No11. However, the first night he moved in Elsie made a play for him; Wally was shocked - he saw her as simply a friend and moved out the same evening.
