Stephen Billington was born in Bolton, Lancashire in 1969. After leaving school he trained at The Drama Centre, North London and graduated in 1993.

He played Lieutenant James in the BBC series The Buccaneers and Ross in Space Precinct before making his movie debut alongside Mel Gibson in the film Braveheart in which he played Philip.

In 1995 he played Alex Holder in Out Of The Blue and the following year he played Neville Bruce in the BBC drama Jonathan Creek. He was a huge success in the Jilly Cooper mini series The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous before making his Coronation Street debut as Les Battersby's illegitimate son Greg Kelly on 1 April 1998.

Stephen lives in London and the 6ft 2in actor excels at swimming and athletics.
